September 22 is World Rivers Day!

How will YOU be celebrating our rivers?

Join us for a World Rivers Day Celebration

from 4-7:30 pm at Tree Pittsburgh

(32 62nd Street | Pittsburgh, PA 15201)

As a way of saying thank you to our rivers and thank you to all the people and organizations in our community that are working hard to keep our rivers healthy and protected, The River Alchemy Project & Vox Lumina invite you to the 3rd annual World Rivers Day Celebration.

Our event will be held on Sunday September 22 from 4-7:30 pm at the impressive solar-powered Tree Pittsburgh venue on the south shore of our beautiful Allegheny River.

World Rivers Day is a UN designated day of global celebration of the world’s waterways that has been happening on the 4th Sunday of September since 2005.

On that day all around the world, local events “highlight the many values of our rivers, strive to increase public awareness, and encourage the improved stewardship of all rivers.”

Here in Pittsburgh we are hosting a gathering of river-loving people and river-loving organizations to acknowledge and celebrate the accomplishments of the past year.

It’s free.

It’s family friendly.

We will have river-loving art-making at our “Creation Station” and water-loving sing-a-long music by Voxylu & the Dreamers.

We will make a parade down to the river and say thank you to the river together.

We will share stories about our favorite rivers, why they are so special to us, and the good times we’ve had in them, on them or by them.

And we will honor the people and organizations in our local communities that are working day after day to protect our beautiful rivers.
